Yogyakarta, November 13, 2025 — American Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada is pleased to announce that one of the keynote speakers at the upcoming “Workshop Capacity Building Peneliti” hosted by Universitas Udayana, Bali, will be Dr. Achmad Munjid, M.A., Ph.D., a lecturer in both the English Literature Department and the American Studies Graduate Program. The goal of the event, which is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2025, is to improve research capability and collaboration among academics in the social sciences and humanities.

Academics and researchers from all around Indonesia come together for this workshop to explore methodological approaches, discuss the changing problems of modern language, literature, and cultural studies study, and exchange perspectives. The main objective of the event is to provide participants with useful tactics for improving the quality, relevance, and global visibility of their scholarly work.

Dr. Achmad Munjid, who has long been recognized for his expertise in American Studies, cultural analysis, and interfaith discourse, will present on topics related to critical research perspectives in the humanities and social sciences, emphasizing the importance of contextual and interdisciplinary approaches in academic inquiry. His session is expected to explore how socio-cultural understanding and nuanced interpretation can enrich scholarly analysis, particularly in an increasingly globalized academic landscape.

Prof. Dr. Drs. Jumanto, M.Pd., a linguistics professor at Universitas Dian Nuswantoro, Semarang, will be a notable co-speaker with him. The focus of Prof. Jumanto’s contribution to the workshop will be on improving linguistic research techniques and encouraging the incorporation of linguistic findings into more comprehensive culture and communication studies. Prof. Jumanto will provide insightful viewpoints on how language research might support interdisciplinary partnerships and societal advancement thanks to his broad academic background and practical linguistics experience.

Building Workshop Capacity Peneliti is a step toward encouraging national cooperation among Indonesian universities in addition to providing a forum for intellectual exchange. Universitas Udayana hopes to enhance the research ecosystem and encourage young scholars to work on creative, significant projects by involving specialists from a range of academic backgrounds.

Dr. Munjid’s involvement in this event demonstrates UGM’s ongoing dedication to inter-university collaboration, academic achievement, and research integrity. His participation demonstrates the university’s commitment to supporting the expansion of Indonesia’s academic community through professional development and knowledge exchange, as well as to participating in national conversations about the caliber of research. Events like this workshop serve as a reminder of the value of teamwork, mentoring, and ongoing idea sharing in an increasingly interconnected academic environment. By taking such steps, Indonesian academics can raise the bar for research and make sure that their achievements are recognized both domestically and globally.
